Making charitable giving a priority can be a challenging decision, especially choosing which organizations to support when there are so many in need. The Chester County Hospital Foundation is extremely fortunate to have gained the support of so many in our community, including long-time Chester County, PA resident Karen Rothenbuhler. "I know there are many organizations worldwide that need assistance," says Karen, "however, I feel very strongly about giving something back to the community in which I live -- helping those around me."
Over the years, Karen and husband Larry experienced the genuine care of the Hospital's physicians and staff and the highest level of clinical services available to the community. Therefore, they chose more than two decades ago to show their appreciation by generously supporting The Chester County Hospital Foundation every year since.
Karen is modest when she discusses how fortunate she feels to have quality care so close to home. "Over 23 years, the amount I've given to the Foundation has changed some depending on my circumstances, but it is very important to me to be able to contribute something every year," she says. "This is also why I wanted to leave some money in my will to The Chester County Hospital Foundation." Karen, like many donors, understands that every contribution makes a difference, no matter the size of the gift.
Karen also feels very strongly that a Hospital should exist to help anyone in the community in need of healthcare. "I think it is important to not only have quality medical care available in Chester County, but also to have our Hospital remain a not-for-profit," she adds. It is for this reason they chose Chester County Hospital, an independent, community-governed, non-profit hospital, for their care and as the recipient of their charitable giving.
We thank Karen and Larry, and all of our steadfast donors for their continued support of The Chester County Hospital Foundation, which supports Chester County Hospital in providing exceptional care in a setting best suited for patients and their families -- close to home.
