National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers accreditation received in 2013 with subsequent reaccreditation.
Cardiovascular Achievement: 2020
Chester County Hospital has received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Chester County Hospital has been awarded a five-star rating - the highest possible score - by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the second year in a row.
Chest Pain Center
In late 2017, Chester County Hospital received full re-accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation from the American College of Cardiology.
Cancer Commendation: 2019
The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to the cancer program at the Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital.
Chester County Hospital Lactation Team
The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®) have recognized Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA for excellence in lactation care.

Newsweek and Statista developed a rigorous methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three main data sources were used for the evaluation:
- Hospital recommendations from peers: an international online survey that included more than 74,000 doctors, hospital managers and health care professionals.
- Patient experience: surveys measuring patient satisfaction with hospitals.
- Medical KPIs: patient safety, hygiene measures, and quality of treatment.

Penn Medicine hospitals have once again been ranked among the top hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, achieving Honor Roll status and top rankings in 12 clinical specialties. The combined enterprise of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center was named to the prestigious Honor Roll list, and ranked as the #1 hospital in Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia metro area, in the 2020-2021 annual survey by the magazine.
Out of nearly 5,000 hospitals analyzed nationwide, Penn Medicine is among only 21 institutions to be named to the publication's 2020-2021 Honor Roll. According to the magazine's editors, Honor Roll hospitals each perform near the top of the rankings in at least half a dozen specialty areas.

The hospital was one of nine nationwide to achieve this recognition in the complex teaching medical center category. The University of Pennsylvania Health System was also awarded at the academic medical center level.
HeartCare Center Pioneer Award
The American College of Cardiology recently recognized Chester County Hospital as a HeartCare Center Pioneer for its commitment to advancing the cause of sustainable quality improvement for cardiovascular care. Only 13 hospitals were named HeartCARE Center Pioneer Award winners nationwide.
Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award
Chester County Hospital received this award by achieving an aggressive goal of treating patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association®.
Chester County Hospital earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients.
2019 Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award
The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from health care organizations nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in achieving and sustaining excellence in likelihood to recommend, overall rating and teamwork. This designation places Chester County Hospital in the top four for like-sized hospitals across the country.
